Moderating sites
When will we take action?
Our team will take action on a site if the listing breaks any of our Community Guidelines or:
- Insufficient information has been provided for us to validate the site,
- The site does not qualify as a point of interest,
- Other community members reported that the site does not exist,
- The site has closed,
- The site is a duplicate and is already available on WikiCamps,
- A request was made to remove the site because:
- The property owner or a reliable source informs us that the site has been sold or is privately owned,
- A local government or authoritative body have requested it be removed*,
- The traditional owners of the land have requested a site be removed for cultural significance
How will we take action?
Our moderators make every effort to work with reports to preserve a site listing wherever possible. In many cases we can change the site type or add information to better clarify. In the event that a site must be removed we:
- Mark the site as "Permanently closed",
- Provide the reason for the closed status,
- Invite users to report incorrect information or a change in circumstances at any stage during the closure process, and
- Delist the site after 30 days.
