Our team are regularly reviewing and moderating all of the content on WikiCamps.
Sites, reviews, fees and photos will be moderated according to our Community Guidelines whenever any user reports content or when the content is flagged automatically by the WikiCamps platform.
Moderating reviews
We know that reviews are subjective by their very nature and we strongly believe negative reviews are equally as valuable as positive reviews.
Our goal is to continue delivering a safe and trustworthy source for camping advice and information - both positive and negative. However, we absolutely reserve the right to take action on both reviews, and users, when their contributions no longer promote a healthy community environment.
When will we take action?
Our team will not remove a review unless it breaks our Community Guidelines or:
- it contains personal insults or name calling
- it doesn't offer a 'review' of the user's first-hand and recent experience of the site (i.e. campground, facilities, features)
- the review contains profanity or vulgarity
- the content is sexually explicit
- it contains prejudiced language (e.g. sexism, racism)
- threats are made
- there are serious allegations with potential legal implications
- a review acts as a reply to another user, or is part of any number of reviews which descend into a forum-like chain of comments and replies
- the review has clearly been posted on the wrong site listing
