News About the WikiCamps Database Update
We are aware of a number of users reporting difficulties around the app update. We have a list of known issues and available solutions below. If your issue does not appear in this list, please contact our support team.
Successfully updated & logged in BUT trips, favourites or other user data is not showing
Issue:
Your trips, favourites and other account data were transferred to the new database, but all of this information must still be downloaded to your device from the WikiCamps servers after signing in.
Solution:
As this information needs time to download to the updated app, please be patient and let the app load when you can. Signing out and back in may slow this process down, as your user account data will need to begin downloading again.
We invite you to try the steps in our support article if you are getting the "Unable to Open" trip error as some users have reported that these steps are working for recovering access to a trip.
Issues logging in to a User Account (or with Password / Verification emails)
Issue:
With so many users already on the updated WikiCamps all at once, please be aware that some devices may experience issues signing in, resetting passwords or verifying accounts due to high server demands.
Solution:
Wait a short while and try again. Our developers have made some tweaks to help the servers cope with the abnormal amount of traffic, but please keep bearing with us as the services work to handle the sudden demand!
Successfully updated & logged in BUT sites appear to be missing information OR loading slowly:
Issue:
The app is running for you, but sites and information is loading slowly due to high server demands.
Solution:
Sites which are displaying with minimal data are still syncing on your device. Our developers have made some tweaks to help the server cope with the massive amount of traffic, but please be patient and wait for the information to download to your device.
Apple Users could not update
Issue:
We became aware that the Apple App store did not listed the updated version of the app after we pushed the update live. Apple reported they had an outage which impacted app services, including app distribution.
Solution:
After Apple resolved the system fault at their end, our developers resubmitted the new app version which has been distributed to app stores now. If you do not yet see the update, please keep checking back in on the app store to see if the update becomes available.
The update is not available in my App Store (Apple App Store, Google Play, Microsoft Store)
Issue:
A small percentage of users are reporting that the app update is still not showing in their store.
Solution:
From what we can see in the number of users updating the app and the available store listings, each of these vendors have published the updated app on their store. If your version of the store is not displaying the app, it might be an issue with your device not being able to refresh the store listings. We'd recommend contacting the support channel for your store to find troubleshooting solutions.

WikiCamps is unusable without the update
Issue:
Where the app update is not available, users report they are 'stuck' on the forced upgrade screen. Our developers advise that with the database changes, the old app will not work in "online" mode. This notification is there to prevent user data loss from attempting to access or input data to the old database.
Solution:
Using your device in offline or airplane mode may allow you to work around the forced upgrade notification by using the WikiCamps app offline. Please note, you will only be able to view Offline content previously acquired.
