We've put together this list of site definitions (also available in the app) for users to refer to when adding, editing or reporting a site on WikiCamps. These broad categories can help you to know whether a site should be on WikiCamps or not.
Campground
Allowing overnight stay. From fully established camping grounds to road side rest stops. Can be either free or cost money and facilities can vary.
Caravan Park
An establishment allowing short or long term stays with various accommodation options.
Costs money and provides toilets and showers for guests. Mains power is usually available.
Backpacker Hostel
An establishment that provides lodging for travellers with dorms or private rooms.
Day Use Area
Generally a nice area suitable for a picnic or fishing. NO overnight camping allowed.
Point of Interest
A specific point location that someone may find useful or interesting.

Information Centre
A centre which provides visitors with tourist information on the attractions and accommodation in the area.
Public Dump Point
Public dump point that is not associated with a caravan park or campground.
Water Facility
Taps, showers, and toilets which are not associated with a caravan park or campground.
